Mandate:

The Decision Support Group is responsible for analysis, predictive modeling, and data management and supports all units across company to help build profitable business units.

The successful applicant will act, as part of an exciting team, as an internal consultant to our business partners.

Reports To: Manager, Decision Support

• Act as your business partner’s conduit to the Decision Support Group.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to determine bottom line impacts of business decisions.
• Take large amounts of complex information from multiple sources and produce simple and easy-to-understand explanations of business results.
• Know the details and communicate the relevant summary to our partners.
• Find and explain actionable cause and effect relationships.
• Perform sensitivity and financial impact analyses to monitor and evaluate the financial performance of proposed strategies.
• Build financial models that consider multiple drivers and relay those drivers into accurate forecasts.
• Run multiple scenarios to test the relative sensitivity of key business drivers.
• Monitor trends in business performance and forecast variances.
• Build financial models that consider multiple drivers and relay those drivers into accurate forecasts.
• Create detailed and flexible analyses that enable business partners to fully understand key drivers of business results.
• Develop and enhance analytical methods to meet user requirements and enhance efficiency.

We are looking for the following in the ideal candidate:

• University degree in Business/Economics/Mathematics or a related field.
• Must have excellent analytical skills.
• A high level of personal initiative.
• Strong communication and presentation skills – this position will include exposure to many different groups within the company.
• An analytical and creative thinker, with a track record of delivering results.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to translate seemingly complex concepts into clear and concise presentations.
• Process and project management experience.
• Strong PC skills (including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• The ability to deal with ambiguity and make intelligent assumptions.
• Strong personal responsibility, honesty and integrity.
• A friendly, outgoing attitude.
• Experience in the grocery retail industry would be an asset.
