Our client, a leading Canadian investment fund, has an excellent career opportunity for an experienced investment banking Analyst in their New York office. The Analyst will be working on the firm's private equity fund which typically invests $100MM - $500MM in mid-size to large companies around the world. The ideal candidate will be currently working in New York as an Analyst in Investment Banking or Mergers & Acquisitions within a large financial institutional.

Please note that the successful candidate must also legally be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship from the client, and have a strong understanding of the capital markets space in New York from his/her professional experience thus far. The client will only interview candidates with no more than 36 months of capital markets experience in Investment Banking and/or Mergers & Acquisitions.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and manage internal databases to assist in the identification and monitoring of potential private equity investments
• Assist senior management in assessing potential private equity investments through quantitative analysis and financial modeling, followed by detailed written proposals
• Assist senior management with industry and asset class research, as well as due diligence
• Assist senior management in completing valuations on the private equity portfolio
• Various ad hoc projects and administration as required
Requirements:
• Completion of a university degree in Finance, Business, or Economics
• Enrolment in, or completion of, CFA program an asset
• 12-36 months of Investment Banking or M&A experience at the Analyst level
• High academic success coupled with leadership skills
• Strong accounting, financial modeling and financial analysis skills
• Strong quantitative, statistical and computer skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a demanding, pressurized and fast-paced work environment
