Our client is a Canadian owned company who are a leader in the food and pharmaceutical sectors. They currently have a permanent opportunity for a Financial Analyst - Fixed Assets to join their head office. Reporting to the Accounting Manager your job responsibilities will include:

Delegating and coordinating the daily work of the Fixed Asset team (3 Clerks)
Creating and maintaining semi-annual and annual performance plans and reviews for direct reports
Analyzing and classifying invoices as either fixed asset or expense in accordance with Company policy and GAAP.
Overseeing the transfer, balancing and reconciliation of invoice vouchers within Fixed Assets categories
Managing the accuracy of the period end close for the Fixed Asset Accounting area including uploads and reconciliations with in the deadlines provided
Analyzing and making adjustments, transfers and corrections into the Fixed Assets and General Ledger systems
Periodic preparation of complex journal entries, account reconciliations and schedules
Running Period Depreciation Interface report for analysis of depreciation
Preparing and reconciling periodic, quarterly and year-end reports using Excel
Providing guidance and assistance in the calculation and reporting of all final account balances and reports before publishing and distributing to senior management

Requirements to Apply:

• CGA/CMA enrolled or 5 solid years fixed asset accounting experience
• Strong working knowledge of fixed assets in a high volume environment
• Excellent analytics and solid understanding of accounting principals
• Knowledge of SAP financial systems - General Ledger and Fixed Assets (preferable)
• Must be a self-starter, someone who can lead a team and provide support
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
