Our client, a leading global hedge fund administrator for the alternative asset management industry, is seeking applicants to fill the Senior Analyst, Risk and Valuation role in its growing Waterloo, Ontario office.

They have invested in the creation of technology designed specifically to satisfy the demands placed on a fund administrator by hedge fund managers and investors. Continuous development of the company proprietary software maintains their position as a global leader in the automation of fund administration. The successful applicant will be a self-motivated individual who after sufficient training will work comfortably without excessive supervision and in a business-casual working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Participate in building financial models using Excel, MATLAB and third party valuation services and software packages (such as FINCAD) to value complex financial instruments
• Evaluate and verify fair market values for complex OTC derivatives using in-house models and independent 3rd party valuation services
• Analyze and collect market prices for different types of securities and monitor/process corporate actions
• Support analytical, pricing and reporting functionalities of Advent Geneva accounting system
• Assist in global security master database management, developing interfaces and workflow managers
Qualifications:
• Strong quantitative and mathematical skills;
• Team-working and strong communication skill;
• MBA in finance/financial engineering, or master of finance, mathematics or other quantitative fields preferred;
• Enrollment in professional program (CFA, FRM) strongly desired;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VBA) and MATLAB, working knowledge programming language (C++/C#/JAVA ) is strongly desired;
• Working knowledge of Bloomberg/Bloomberg Data License, Advent Geneva and IDC would be beneficial.
