Qualifications

• University degree or college diploma with CIP preferred and/or equivalent business experience
• Minimum five years claims handling experience with multi-line exposure preferred
• Thorough knowledge of the litigation process and provincial legislation/statutes
• Thorough knowledge of FSCO mediation and arbitration systems

Duties

• Complete FSCO mediations including responses, file review and meetings
• Attend to administrative tasks surrounding the ADR process
• Record keeping
• ADR Statistics
• Address incoming accident benefits arbitration and litigation administrative processes
• Attend arbitration & litigation process, including discoveries, pre-trials & hearings with counsel
• Keep appraised of the ADR process by attending industry forums, liaising with members of the community and with FSCO and reviewing and disseminating litigation and arbitration decisions that affect the claims process
• Act as a resource for SABS related issues that come up and be available to adjusters and others who need direction in claims handling for discussions and guidance
