Qualifications
- University Degree, College Diploma or CIP Designation
- Excellent problem solving and negotiation techniques
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive Claims experience in AB
- Detailed knowledge of Ontario automobile insurance, tort law and medical terminology
- Understanding of WSIB, OHIP and the Rules of Civil Procedure
- Highly organized with good written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Investigate, evaluate and negotiate settlement of moderate to complex accident benefit claim files within branch authority in accordance with Bill 198 and company standards
- Analyze benefit applications, treatment plan submissions, expert recommendations, medical reports, Insurer examinations, SABS and WSIB legislation.
- Work closely with claimants, rehabilitation workers, medical professionals, lawyers and employers to ensure claims are handled professionally and expeditiously.
- Oversee creation and monitoring of suitable rehabilitation plans, aimed at rehabilitation claimants to return to pre-accident employment and/or activities of daily living.
- Evaluate and establish fair values for injuries.
- Communicate views verbally and in written form in an effective manner.
