Description

As a Team Underwriter, you will be working in a call centre brokerage environment and providing underwriting support for 12-15 brokers to ensure they are meeting the company’s underwriting guidelines. In this role you will be doing a lot of coaching and providing feedback to brokers. This position offers a very competitive salary, a stream of bonuses including an RRSP plan, tuition reimbursement & a fitness subsidy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of personal lines underwriting experience ideally in a call centre environment
• College or University degree preferred or relevant work experience
• Must have superior written and oral communication skills
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• RIBO preferred or must be willing to obtain RIBO
• CIP or CAIB designation preferred
• Solid time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
• Computer proficient

Duties

• Underwrite Personal Lines risks in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Coaching and providing constructive feedback to agents to help improve front-line underwriting skills
• Communicate with agents all underwriting issues in a timely manner
• Perform broker underwriting audits
• Remain current with industry trends and make recommendations for areas of process improvements
• Handling high value files
• Coaching underwriters as required
