Qualifications

 1+ years of experience in Bodily Injury (B.I.) Claims
 Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel (PowerPoint and E-Mail an asset). Some working knowledge of databases (i.e. Risk Management system).
 Solid understanding of injury / damages assessment and liability (reserve setting).
 Solid understanding of the liability incurred from a legal perspective.
 Must have exceptional customer service skills and an ability to deal with all levels both internal and external to the organization.
 Must have strong organizational, communication, time management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Duties

 Responsible for managing liability claims, investigation, negotiation and settlement of incidents
 Attend mediations, settlement conferences, and pre-trials across the country.
 Manage claims pending in a timely manner, maintaining an open/close ratio of 1:1
 Balance liability assessments with customer service.
 Review accident and loss producing conditions and administrative practices of operations.
 Review risk control solutions and help to initiate the same
 Support the development of analytical reports through interpretation and communication of loss related statistical data.
 Support training initiatives to reduce costs/frequency of operational accidents.
 Ensure the integrity of claim data within the system and that the claim files comply with audit expectations.
 Identify business opportunities and provide recommendations (relating to risk procedures/maintenance) to reduce exposure.
 Identify losses and opportunities to the business resulting in reduced exposure.
 Complete Bodily Injury worksheets on higher end files.
