Qualifications

• 3 years of prior management experience including:
o operational and financial experience in managing employees, customer service, purchasing, payroll and accounts payable/receivable
• Willingness and ability to live on site in an assigned apartment
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing, with residents and staff
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team setting and to convey strong public relations skills
• Experience in computer use and relevant software applications is preferred
• Experience working with senior citizens
• Knowledge of Human Resources laws, policies & procedures
• Ability to keep all business and operations information confidential
• Must demonstrate high standards of ethics and personal accountability.

Duties

• Provide leadership, supervision, training, guidance, and communication while assisting with all aspects of Community management, including special attention to the following areas when the Managers are off duty:

o Census--Develop and implement techniques and resources designed to attain and maintain one hundred (100%) occupancy at all times through effective community relations, special events, inquiry calls, tours, etc. Devote time each week for community outreach, following up on direct inquiries and conducting tours for prospective residents.
o Budget--Follow the approved operating budget. Communicate with the Management Team and obtain approval for exceptions from the Regional Director
o Resident Relations--Assess resident satisfaction through continued personal interactions, assist with monthly resident meetings as well as responding to emergency calls from residents,
o Human Resources--Develop and maintain staff who provide quality service and ensure resident satisfaction. This includes direct responsibility for hiring; training; supervision; scheduling of hours, breaks, and meal periods; performance management, discipline, and discharge.
o Food Service--Assist the Executive Chef when necessary in budgeting; inventory; reporting; preparation and serving of attractive, appetizing, and balanced meals. Maintenance of clean, sanitary, safe, and attractive Kitchen and Dining Room facilities shall be a priority for all staff.
o Maintenance--Ensure that day-to-day building and ground maintenance issues are addressed and resolved adequately, either by Maintenance staff or contractors.
o Accounting--Submit reports, invoices, and other financials; record revenue and expenses on a regular basis in accordance with company guidelines.
o Safety--Responsible for maintaining the Safety Program. Share responsibility with the Managers and Executive Chef to enforce regular employee Safety Committee meetings.
• Concentrate on issues impacting all areas of Management and resident satisfaction through weekly meetings with the Management Team.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager and/or Regional Director.
• Perform all work assigned for the agreed-upon salary, accepting no additional payment or perishable gifts from residents, vendors, Management, or others.
• Follow specified procedures as outlined in the Safety Manual regarding the handling of contaminated material encountered in accidents or injuries on the Community premises
