Description

Our client has an immediate need for a junior controller in Mississauga. The right candidate will be responsible for reporting & analysis in areas of budgeting, finance & inventory control for the company

Qualifications

• 4+ years working in an accounting environment in the retail sector.
• Excellent working knowledge of JDA software
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
• Experience in a supervisory role within an accounting department.
• Experience preparing year end paperwork for external accountants.
• Accounting Designation or in progress a definite asset
• Proven experience and ability to show extremely high end knowledge of accounting.

Duties

• Prepare year end package for external accountants
• Must be able to report to management on a monthly basis both cash flow analysis and financials
• Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing & summarizing information & trends
• Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting & reporting financial data
• Monitors & confirms financial condition by conducting audits; providing information to external auditors
• Must ensure that monthly bank reconciliation’s and all government filings are up to date including knowledge of GST, PST and payroll
• Protects assets by establishing, monitoring & enforcing internal controls
